Corey Thompson is CTO at Pellucere Technologies, Inc. in Springdale, AR. Corey is a native of Pittsburg, Texas, and moved to Fayetteville for college. Corey holds a B.S. (2008) and a M.S. (2011) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the UofA. He earned his Ph.D. in Microelectronics and Photonics from the UofA in 2014 working under Dr. Min Zou in the Nanomaterials and Tribology Laboratory. Concurrently, he completed a Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship from the Walton College of Business, competing on the national business plan competition circuit. As founder of WattGlass, LLC in 2013, Corey advanced a water-based route to create antireflective glass coatings, securing over $3M in grants from the DOE, NSF, and NASA. In 2022, WattGlass merged with Pellucere Technologies, and Corey assumed the role of CTO. In this position he oversees research and development and product management for three subsidiaries with direct reports in the US, Germany, and India. Pellucere operates three global production sites with 40+ employees. In 2024, Corey married his wonderful partner and wife, Stephanie. Their “patchwork” family consists of 4 children from 9 to 23, a grandchild, an excess of quirks, and loads of laughter. They reside happily in Tontitown, Arkansas.
